Don-E returns with Natural
“Natural” seems the perfect title for the stunning new album from one of the UK’s most gifted and enduring urban music talents DON-E, for whom writing, producing and performing comes naturally. The new album is a beautifully crafted collection of songs, and several of them are already blowing up ahead of the August 25 release date. Leading the pack is the the opening track ‘Addictive Love’ with its up-tempo party vibe, and equally popular at radio is the irresistible Eighties-flavoured groove ‘Stay A While’. And Don-e’s slow-jam take on the Bob Marley classic ‘Waiting In Vain’ is also attracting a lot of attention and a lot of requests. There are several stand-out duets, including ‘Writing’s On The Wall’ with Keisha Buchanan of the Sugababes, for whom Don has written songs in the past, and ‘Like I Like It’ with Kele Le Roc. The album closes with a stunning ballad duet on ‘The Time Is Now’ with ex-Sugababe Mutya Buena. ‘So Cold’ features Don-e on vocals and keys, Stuart Zender, formerly of Jamiroquai, on guitar and drums, and a guest cameo on Fender Rhodes keyboard from D’Angelo. Don-e recalls: “I was involved with the Sugababes from the very beginning of the group, and produced a lot of their initial demos at my studio in Brixton, working with Ron-Tom from Metamorphosis, who put the three girls together. It’s great, now they’re all grown up and successful, that I got to work with Keisha and Mutya on my new project.” This album is something special. The album you’ve been waiting for from Don-e. Released August 25, catalogue number DOME CD 94. You can see Don-e live, together with Omar, at London’s Jazz Café on September 26 and 27.

A Poem About Ms Doss....out soon on Dome!
Dome is proud to announce that the wonderful debut album by Conya Doss, A Poem About Ms Doss, which has been unavailable for several years, will be released for the first time in the UK and Europe on August 4. Conya built a solid foundation with her engaging debut album, which was originally released in 2002, produced by Tony Nicholas and Myron. As well as her stunning cover of the Norman Connors classic ‘Starship’, it also includes such excellent original songs as ‘You Really Hurt Me’, ‘Coffee’ and ‘All Because Of You’. Amplified wrote: “A great new soul singer…and a very strong record. Conya’s got a sweet and bubbling vocal style that lies somewhere between Jill Scott and Erykah Badu, recorded with backings that mix in just the right sort of warm instrumentation to keep things real”. A Poem About Ms. Doss (Dome CD 95) has been followed by three fine albums - Just Because, Love Rain Down and Still…, all released by us on Dome in Europe.
